Founder and President

Dr. Eric Marks, D.C.

Delaware native, Parker graduate, and founder of Pure Wellness. Dr. Marks built a five-clinic group so families across the state can get the same exam-driven chiropractic care.

Dr. Eric Marks is the founder and President of Pure Wellness. A graduate of Parker College of Chiropractic and the University of Delaware, he is licensed in Delaware and certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.

He practices in Newark using Diversified, Gonstead, SOT, and myofascial release. Before leading Pure Wellness he held associate and leadership roles in Newark and Austin, and he still treats patients while running the group.

Outside the clinic he serves on the board of the Greater Newark Boys and Girls Club, stays active, follows sports, and spends time with his family. Patients who want the person who built this model of care start with Dr. Marks in Newark.

Chiropractic is a way of looking at total body health, not a trick for a tight back.

What a first visit with Eric looks like

A first appointment runs 60 to 90 minutes and most of it is not treatment. The history comes first — what the complaint is, when it started, what makes it worse, what you have already tried, and what you need to be able to do again. Then the physical exam: posture, active and passive range of motion, orthopaedic testing, and a neurological screen. Imaging is ordered when the exam calls for it, not as a default.

You will hear the findings and the plan before anything is treated, including how many visits Eric expects it to take and what should change by when. If the exam points somewhere other than chiropractic — a medical condition, a referral to physical therapy, imaging, or a specialist — that is what you will be told. Pure Wellness Newark keeps the same standard across every doctor in the building.

Technique is matched to the patient. Eric works with Diversified, Gonstead, SOT, Myofascial Release, and low-force instrument or drop-table options are available for anyone who does not want manual adjusting or should not have it — including older patients, patients with osteoporosis, and anyone who is simply nervous about it.

Common questions about seeing Eric

Where does Eric practice?

Dr. Eric Marks, D.C. sees patients at Pure Wellness Newark, 550 Stanton Christiana Rd Ste 302, Newark, DE 19713 ((302) 365-5470). Booking here uses the same schedule the clinic uses.

What happens at a first visit with Eric?

Expect 60 to 90 minutes. History first, then a physical exam covering posture, range of motion, orthopaedic and neurological testing, and imaging only where the exam calls for it. You will hear what was found and what the plan is before any treatment, and if chiropractic is not the right answer you will be told that instead.

What techniques does Eric use?

Diversified, Gonstead, SOT, Myofascial Release. Technique is chosen to fit the patient rather than the other way round — low-force instrument and drop-table options exist for patients who do not want or should not have manual adjusting.

Is insurance accepted?

Yes, at every Pure Wellness clinic. Benefits are verified at no charge before you commit to anything, so you know your coverage, deductible position, and visit limits up front rather than after the first bill.

Can I see Eric for a car accident or work injury?

Yes. Personal injury and workers' compensation cases are billed through a different path than advertised new-patient pricing, and the motor-vehicle and work-injury forms should be completed before you arrive. Early documentation matters more in these cases than in any other.
